How efficient is oil heating?
When tuned to match your unique usage needs, an oil system is an efficient heating method for homes in Maine. When properly maintained, oil furnaces can deliver consistent heat while minimizing waste.
When should I order oil?
We recommend that you order oil at a quarter of a tank so that you’re sure to take at least 100 gallons, leaving you with enough oil to heat your home until delivery.
How does Autofill work?
Using advanced oil consumption algorithms, we monitor your home’s unique oil usage and top you off when your system is around one-quarter full.
Does it cost more to pay with a card?
We offer the same low price to all our customers regardless of payment method.
Does Autofill cost more?
Autofill is the less expensive option, with customers saving two cents per gallon on every order.
How do I know I’m getting the lowest price?
At Nice Fuel, we guarantee the lowest price on heating oil in our delivery area. We’ll not only match a lower price, but we’ll also beat it by 2 cents per gallon! We don’t believe in overcharging our customers for a product that’s a necessity, so we promise to always offer the lowest price on heating oil.
Do you offer Budget Agreements?
Yes! We offer agreements for the purpose of providing home heating oil deliveries on a budget plan.
How long does the Budget Agreement last?
Our Budget Agreements begin on the date signed and continue until terminated by either party with written notice.
When enrolled in a Budget Agreement, do I have fixed rates?
No- rates are not fixed. Heating oil prices fluctuate based on market conditions, and the price per gallon may increase or decrease during the term of the agreement. Adjustments to budget payment amounts may be made at any time to reflect changes in oil prices or consumption.
How can I terminate my Budget Agreement?
A Budget Agreement can be terminated by either party with written notice at any time. Upon termination, any outstanding balance becomes due immediately.
Can I update the payment method on my account?
Yes. To change the payment method on your account, please contact our office directly. You may also leave updated payment information with our answering service after hours, and they will pass it along to our team during regular business hours.
Customers who prefer to pay by check may mail payments to the appropriate P.O. Box. Please note that a valid card must still remain on file. If a scheduled payment is not received, the card on file may be used to collect the balance due.
Could my payment amount be adjusted?
Yes. Budget payment amounts are based on factors such as fuel costs and your actual usage, so they may be adjusted throughout the agreement. If your payment amount needs to change, someone from our office will reach out by phone or email before the adjustment is made. Please be sure to monitor both your phone messages and email so you do not miss important account updates.
What should I expect if my card is declined?
If a card payment does not go through, our office will attempt to notify you by both phone and email. This gives you the opportunity to provide a new card or make other payment arrangements.
It remains the customer’s responsibility to make sure funds are available for scheduled payments. If we are unable to resolve the payment issue in a timely manner, further collection efforts, including legal action, may be taken.
Am I able to cancel my agreement?
Yes. You may end your agreement at any time. If you cancel, any unpaid balance on the account becomes due immediately and must be paid in full on the cancellation date.
Cancellation requests must be provided in writing.
What is the length of a budget agreement?
Most budget agreements are set up for a 12-month period, beginning in July and ending in June. Enrollment is available throughout the year, though joining later in the heating season can result in higher payment amounts.
Before your current agreement ends, our office will send a renewal notice so you can decide whether you would like to continue with the program.
How are payment dates scheduled?
Payment schedules are flexible and can be set up around what works best for you. Depending on your preference, payments may be made weekly, every other week, or monthly. You may also select specific dates for payments instead of choosing a recurring weekday.
How will I know when fuel deliveries are going to be made?
Customers enrolled in automatic delivery can expect their tank to be filled once it is estimated to be around ¼ full, unless a different arrangement has been made. Since every home uses fuel at a different rate, we cannot guarantee exact delivery dates or determine the exact day your tank will reach that level.
Customers who are not enrolled in automatic delivery must call the office to request fuel and provide the number of gallons they would like delivered.
For non-automatic delivery accounts, additional fees may apply when an order is placed for less than the 100-gallon minimum delivery amount.
